My name is Meagan, I’m 27 years old and the mother to a beautiful 7 year old baby girl named Ava. She’s truly an inspiration for me. Once I became a mother, my life changed for the better. I had a new sense of creativity and definitely needed a place to funnel it into. After a whole year of sharing my creations on Flickr, I finally decided to take the plunge and start this blog. Aptly named Ava’s Lookbook, because that’s exactly what it is! A place where I can share what I make and a little about the journey I took to get there.

Growing up my “Nani, ” my mother’s mother, would always make my cousins and I special occasion dresses. It was really special, I still have most of them! I decided one day that I wanted to do the same thing for Ava. So, I began sewing…trying to at least. I was seriously intimidated by it all. One day my mom taught me the basics and how to generally work a sewing machine. I basically just threw myself into the “lion’s den” and haven’t really looked back since. I LOVE sewing and it has quickly become an obsession for me. Although I’m quite the beginner, I’m also quite ambitious.

I’m looking forward to sharing my creations and to finally have an outlet to do so!
